Our home-compostable capsule breaks down in just 26 weeks. The degradation products are water, CO2 and biomass. The nutrients in the coffee remain within the materials cycle and serve as soil fertiliser.
Industrially compostable capsules, on the other hand, require special facilities to ensure proper decomposition due to higher temperatures needed. While technically compostable, they won’t decompose in your garden compost — and often end up in general waste if consumers don’t have access to industrial facilities. Sealing
The film that has been specially designed for Nespresso® compatible, compostable coffee capsules, which can be used for a variety of contents, such as coffee, tea or instant powdered drinks. The film is fully compostable at home. For an optimal seal, a sealing head with the widest possible sealing contour is used.
100% Certified OK Home Compostable
Not only the capsule itself, but also the lid is certified by TÜV Austria for home composting, ensuring that they decompose in a garden compost bin and turn into nutrient-rich soil.
